iFans: Mapping K-pop’s International Fandom is a scholarly research project that examines global fan attitudes and activities through surveys, collection of information on online communities and analysis of websites. Crystal S. Anderson, PhD (Elon University) is the Principal Investigator of the studies and Curator of the iFans project site. Most surveys take between 5-10 minutes.
General K-pop Survey: This survey seeks to find out attitudes and opinions about K-pop in general.
Old School K-pop Survey: This survey seeks to find out the attitudes and opinions of fans of K-pop groups that debuted before 2000.
U.S. K-pop Fan Study: This survey seeks to find out the attitudes and opinions of all K-pop fans living in the United States, especially African American, Asian American and U.S. Latino K-pop fans.
iFans Case Studies: This survey seeks to find out what fans of multiple K-pop groups think. This survey asks questions about 2NE1, Aziatix, BigBang, Epik High, f(x), MBLAQ, SHINee, SNSD, SS501, Shinhwa, Super Junior and TVXQ.
Individual Case Studies: These surveys seek to find out fan about your favorite/bias group and asks for more in-depth opinions about the following groups:
